Finally,I made it from the capital city through other district capitals.I hate to remember how the seemly good looking public transport on which I was almost somersaulted but for the Grace of God,it sudden halted.The ball bearings were totally ‘eaten away’.It was a Sunday and I needed to be at my project location to see the commencement of a planned activity.That’s the challenge with development work: Deadlines!
Seven hours after that uncomfortable journey,I arrived at my door.” Oh Thank you LORD”,that has always been my practice and is almost my arrival mantra,especially from such tiring and very frustrating journeys.Perhaps,I specialize in such because majority of my work involves ” Wilson,you are needed at so-and- so to ensure that this program is carried out according to schedule.”.That’s been it for me.Drifting.Shifting.Moving.
So I stood in front of the ‘trap door’,moved my hand through that part of the bag where I normally keep my bunch of keys. Something is not normal today.I left the keys on my bed,seven hours away from where I’m standing !.And do you know what time it is ? 11:45pm.I don’t want to call anybody too.It’s harmattan,very chilly.That will be inconveniencing to Tony,my recently married friend.
For almost seventy minutes,I spent time gently ‘destroying’ the lock to my ‘trap door’. I’m destroying my own door to enter my own room.That’s counterproductive and inefficient.
You see.
Whenever you don’t have the keys to a thing,you struggle.even if that thing belongs to you legitimately.
You could journey several miles in education to that door of opportunity,yet you need the key to enter that door.Opportunities could be starring you in theface,yet if you lack the key requirement you will be overlooked.In destroying my door,I hurt my fingers,bleed mildly and wearied myself in the cold.why? I was using crude tools to force my way into a room that is legally mine.Yes,legally mine but I dont have the key at hand.
” And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven.Whatever you lock on earth will be locked in heaven,and whatever you open on earth will be opened in heaven(Matthew 16:19 New Living Translation)”
That’s the word of Life.
It’s not a religious promise,but a Life principle.It isn’t only for Christians just like how the Bible is not a ‘book for Christians’,but rather your Manual for Life. Well,our secular education mis-educated us with religion. But you must reorient your mind to choose the path of Life.Not because you were socialized as such but because you seek life in all its fulness. You need that key to unlock life’s iron doors.
The key to my door is a very tiny metallic piece but is able to swing open that huge wooden door that secures me from externalities.Its able to tun the hinge freely,just that tiny metallic piece: Key.
The key to your life is also about making simple but phenomenally transforming decisions.Little Personal decisions. Getting the foundations right.
My key to Life’s doors is J-E-S-U-S.
A very simple KEY. Do you have that key?
